SuSE Lovers is a site dedicated to the openSuSE distribution of Linux. This site is just starting out, and it will hopefully be an ongoing project for quite some time. Since I am currently the sole maintainer of this site, and when time permits, I will be including screenshots, news, reviews, a user forum, and many other features that I plan on including for those of you who are interested. Thanks for your patience as I do my best to make any progress that I am able to. When work is slow at my regular job, I will spend time updating this site when I can. SuSE (pronounced: Soo-Sŭh) was originally spelled with "dot" separators 'S.u.S.E.' which is a German acronym for 'Software und System Entwicklung' - meaning: software and system development. Not satisfied with the Slackware way of doing things, SuSE gradually switched from the .tgz file format, and converted to the RPM format, which has been their main method of package deployment ever since. SuSE did away with the "dot" separators, and it no longer stands for anything. SuSE was recently acquired by Novell, however, there is ongoing development with openSuSE... a A very brief history of SuSE can be found here. Two familiar icons that you will see on a regular basis are:
